Lose Your Excuses And Find Your Results

Do you know that habit where you already make up reason without being asked? That defensive reason? That reason that has made you stop trying? That reason you can’t seem to get over it? That reason you keep dwelling on? Well, here’s the news, those reasons are EXCUSES. (Chillax! Don’t run! Remember that we don’t give/tell the news…this is a blog?) Excuses are normal. They are what you use to feel better about something. Yes! You want to quit; you want to forget; you hate failing; you don’t like being mocked or trying all over again.

Ugh, enough about excuses but, for now, how do you find your results instead of complaining? That’s why INSPIRE is here. Do you know how everyone tends to dislike people who complain every time? Yeah? Complaints and excuses are siblings. So no one wants someone who will weigh them down by making excuses rather than finding solutions then results.

Firstly you’ve got to STOP MAKING EXCUSES. Excuses come up naturally, while changes don’t. You have to be intentional about not making excuses. When things don’t go as planned, don’t blame someone or something or circumstance. When you fail, don’t attach it to anything but instead try the next step and ANALYZE THE PROBLEM. So what made you fall through in your endeavor? Or what made things go south? Why couldn’t you keep up? Look for the center of the problem and unravel your mistakes. Then take a step to solve these problems.

While doing this, FIND A MOTIVATION. It is essential to have something that keeps you going and reminds you of the tasks that you have set out to accomplish. This motivates you to continue, whether a person, a quote, an object, a song, or a healthy rivalry. Make sure it’s something reliable that you have easy access to, doesn’t have its highs and lows because you’ll need all the motivation you can get. Your motivator cannot be down or unavailable when you need it.

Whatever your motivation is, make sure it aids your progress because it has to be capable of helping you make the next step which is to STAY ON TRACK. Staying on track isn’t easy; that is why motivation is essential. Don’t give up even when things aren’t looking up; if not, you’ll slip back into making excuses and not making progress. Stagnancy is guaranteed if you give up.

When you’re feeling low, frustrated, thrown off, ask yourself:  Why do you do what you’re doing? Does it make you happy? Is your goal important to you?; Will it aid your physical, mental, emotional stability? If you answer mainly positively, continue what you’re doing and stay focused. Sheesh, we’ve learned a lot, haven’t we? We will still learn one or two things before safely reaching our goal.

Our next step is to BE OPEN TO NEW IDEAS; You need to be open to other ideas. Your ideas are not always the best available, learn from others with all modesty, and do not let pride overcome you. Your goal is more important than your jealous pride. Lastly, don’t let failure bring you down lest you slip into making excuses once again. More failure makes a bigger story.
